Lakes of Taylor Golf Club has ventured into uncharted waters with the addition of a new outdoor dining and banquet area. The all-wood pavilion has been dubbed “The Dock” to accentuate the ties to the Lake House Restaurant on the second floor of the impressive club house.
The ceremonial ribbon-cutting to open the pavilion took place Tuesday, June 23. The newest addition to the City of Taylor-owned golf club will be available for golf league players to enjoy from 4 to 10 p.m. weekdays. In addition, the venue is available for rental by groups of up to 150 for all kinds of events.
The impressive pavilion allows visitors to enjoy the two water features and gorgeous views of the Arthur Hills masterpiece golf course. The structure includes a kitchen with grilled foods from Chicken Quesadillas to Bistro Steaks.
The Dock features a huge sit-at bar made of granite and stone as well as full-length screens that keep the views but control wind and sun exposure. The pine board ceiling in the main dining area – with its bamboo ceiling fans and soft lighting – has a feel of an up north gazebo by the lake.
Golf Director Rob Pare said the pavilion has already been booked this month for graduation parties, golf outings and anniversary parties.
The first event at The Dock was a graduation party hosted by Taylor residents Mike and Kathy Talley for their daughter, Lindsey.
“The ambiance and views are wonderful,” Mrs. Talley said. “The food was prepared perfectly and the staff was so accommodating. We have been inundated with compliments for such a nice party, but we really owe it all to the staff at Lakes of Taylor for taking such good care of us!”
The elegance and attention to each detail of The Dock make it seem like your every whim has been anticipated. Although dates are filling fast for this season, you can still visit the facility and check on your special date by calling Cindy Grell, the event coordinator at Lakes of Taylor, at (734) 287-1655.
