Under beautiful, sunny skies and 70 degree weather, 126 golfers participated in the second annual event which officially opened the golf season at Taylor Meadows Golf Club. The tournament was played as a two person scramble format with Taylor Meadows being converted into a vey difficult 2853 yard, par 54 layout.
The tournament was designed primarily as a fun event and to try something diffrent at the start of the season. Of course the competition heated up when former Major League Pticher Steve Avery and his partner Matt Zavadil started making birdies. Unfortunately for them, they came up one birdie short as Taylor Kennedy High School Varsity Football Coach, Chuck Hokey and Bill Bergdoll made 4 birdies and a bogie to post a 3under par score to win the event. Joining in the sub par rounds of the day were the teams of Mike Mandalek & Brian Cheesman and Jason Bolley & Berkebile both at one under par scores.
Talks have already begun about how to make this tournament better for next season. Feel free to drop us a line. Thanks again to all our competitors.
